Our community groups provide a holistic focus across a variety of activities linking with and supported by Goole’s local community.  This activity focuses on community involvement, fun and participation with many working towards performances at local arts and cultural venues.

Castaway Sing

Sing is a large community choir which welcomes adults of all ages and abilities and performs at local events and across the East Riding. The choir has a varied repertoire including folk, gospel, popular music and songs from the shows with member choices playing a key part. As well as fundraising for Castaway the choir also raises money for other groups and organisations and has appeared on BBC Children in Need.

In June 2017, with East Riding Hull City of Culture funding, Castaway Sing commissioned a new piece 'Wander' by York composer Emily Crossland and visited East Riding community locations for participatory performance workshops celebrating muisic from East Riding and beyond.  'Wander' celebrates different East Riding villages and landmarks along the Wolds Way. We hope to perform it again in 2019.
