Youth/Creative Transitions

Our youth activities ensure that young people have the opportunity to enjoy fun and meaningful experiences independently of their primary carers, thereby contributing to their social development and reducing social isolation. Our provision provides a wide range of stimulating, fulfilling and enjoyable arts activities.

Creative Transitions

Creative Transitions - Arts Pathways for 16+

Creative Transitions is a new project from 2020 funded through a grant from National Lottery Community Fund, Reaching Communities England, specifically designed to support young people in Yorkshire to plan individual learning journeys and arts pathways into adulthood. Participants can experience music, dance, drama, film and visual arts with a strong emphasis on participation, personal development and ownership of their individual pathway. Participation can be short or long term with opportunities to develop mentoring and leadership skills. Workshops are led by professional artists and experienced leaders with expertise in their chosen specialism.

Arts Award

All our members up to the age of 25 have the opportunity to complete an Arts Award in whichever group(s) they attend to support them developing as artists and leaders and gain an accreditation for their work.

Arts Award’s unique qualifications support young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. The programme develops their creativity, leadership and communication skills. Arts Award motivates and celebrates young people’s artistic achievements. Young people can achieve an award through any arts, media or cultural activity, developing knowledge and understanding of their chosen art forms. Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England.

Holiday Activities & Projects

We provide a variety of projects to add to our weekly youth provision.  These are developed in a day or across a number of days on a project to project basis and culminate in a celebration or performance of some kind.  The projects vary in focus sometimes offering one art form e.g. acting or music and sometimes focusing on combined arts projects such as film making and devising performances. See below for our current offer.
